The Klein Tools CL800 is an auto-ranging TRMS digital clamp meter designed to measure AC/DC current via the clamp and electrical measurements via test leads. It supports current measurements from 10 mA to 600 A, and measures up to 1000V AC and 1000V DC.
Using the included test leads, the CL800 measures resistance (up to 60 MΩ), capacitance (up to 6000 µF), and frequency (1 Hz to 500 kHz), and supports audible continuity and diode testing. Temperature measurements are supported via the included thermocouple probe, with a range of -14°F to 1000°F (-26°C to 538°C). The meter also includes a Low Impedance (LoZ) mode.
For visibility and operation, the CL800 features a 6000-count LCD and provides backlight and a built-in worklight. It includes Data Hold, MAX/MIN functions, a low-battery indicator, and Auto Power Off (default after 30 minutes of inactivity). A built-in Non-Contact Voltage (NCV) function provides visual warning signals when AC voltage is detected, and a test lead holder supports two-handed operation.
Built for field use, the CL800 is rated IP40 and is designed to withstand a 6.6 ft (2 m) drop. Safety ratings include CAT IV 600V and CAT III 1000V (Class 2, double insulation). The kit includes the meter, carrying case, 41" test leads, thermocouple with adapter, and 2 AAA batteries (included). An optional magnetic hanger is available separately.
